Hand Control Bow Mount Trolling Motor

If you're running a transom mount or a bow mount hand control trolling motor (with a speed coil) on your fishing boat, including a Minn Kota Enduras, Traxxis or Vector, you may eventually experience some problems with the speed switch. This is not uncommon, due to the punishment this switch takes as an electronic device existing in a wet environment. Fortunately, the five speed switch designed to fit these motors is an inexpensive item to purchase and fairly straightforward to replace. So, if your motor's speed control starts to act up, don't worry. The fix is easy and inexpensive, especially when you're buying your genuine Minn Kota parts from us here at Fish Lectronics.

All you need in order to replace your five speed switch is a new replacement unit and a #2 Phillips-head screwdriver. Your hand control bow mount trolling motor control box is held together by six screws. Once these are removed, take off the top cover and you'll see the speed switch, which is connected by six color-coded wires. It's this switch that gives your trolling motor the electronic signals for its five forward and three reverse speeds. It's held in place by a locking tab and is easily removed. Simply match up the correct colored motor wires and the two battery (+ and -) wires, sliding each onto the new switch's terminals. Replace the cover top and screw the unit back together.
