A. 2008 and earlier serial numbers:
Serial numbers start with the two-letter prefix MK (Minn Kota), GN (Genesis), DH(DeckHand), CP (CoPilot), WW (Weedless Wedge 2 models), TT (Trim Tabs), Following the prefix, will be a two-letter year code:
How to determine the model year of a motor:

For example, if you see a motor with a WWAI designation, it will denote a
2008 model motor and MKAF is a 2005-year model.

C. Factory reconditioned motors have a 1-year warranty (FR in serial number).
D. No warranty on motors used commercially. Warranty is non-transferable.

New Motors All motors went to a 2-year warranty in 2010 (K serial numbers)

Pre-2010 Endura models purchased after July 1, 2007 had a 3-year warranty.
Pre-2010 Fortrex motors had a 3-year warranty.
Pre-2010 Maxxum motors had a 3-year warranty.
Maxxum Pro motors had a 3-year warranty.
Pre-2010 Power Drive V2 motors had a 3-year warranty.
Pre-2010 Terrova models had a 3-year warranty.
Pre-2010 Traxxis models had a 3-year warranty.
*Trim-n-Troll units have a 3-year warranty.
Pre-2010 Vector with 3X motors had a 3-year warranty.
Pre-2010 White RipTide models had a 3-year warranty.
